Chocolate Girls Ball Participant Rules & Regulations
1. A contestant must be a resident of Franklin County for at least 6 month prior to Ball.
2. A contestant must be 7 years to 12 years of age to enter. Please attach proof of age to the
application.
3. There must be a parent or guardian during the auditions, rehearsals and show.
4. No cameras or cell phone cameras are allowed in any dressing room at any time, no
exceptions.
5. The contestant must have good behavior at auditions, rehearsals and contest.
6. Contestant must be an U.S. citizen and never have been charged or convicted of a felony
offense. Contestant should not have engaged in any activities that are characterized as dishonest,
immoral, or indecent.
7. Entrant agrees that the time, manner and method of conducting and judging the contest shall be
the sole discretion of the pageant officials and that the decision of the judges shall be final.
8. Contestant agrees: that for the creativity part of the competition that requires the making of a
garment from plastic garbage bag, the garment can be any color, size or shape and have fabric, 9.
Chocolate Girls Ball and staff are not responsible for personal items that are left at auditions,
rehearsals and the competition.
10. Entrant agrees to abide by all the rules of the County and State contests now in effect or as
hereafter announced.
11. Entrant must be present at the following MANDATORY MEETINGS: (1) The last rehearsal the
week of show. A workshop will be conducted by industry professionals for the benefit of the
contestants. The workshop is recommended but not mandatory.
12. Attendances at rehearsals are limited to the contestant and parents or guardian, director, and
assigned assistants chosen by the director.
13. All questions must be emailed to Xantha Ward at Xantha@xanthadesigns.com , Xantha will
respond with an answer and copy all contestants in with the original question and response in order to
maintain transparency of the competition.
14. Illegal drugs, alcohol and smoking will definitely not be tolerated.
15. Internet like MySpace and Face book are becoming increasingly popular in today's society.
Because of this, your pictures or comments can be looked at by anyone. Since you are representing
Chocolate Girls Ball, all pictures and comments on these sites should be respectful and tasteful. If a
contestant or the princess is found out to have inappropriate pictures or comments, you will be
disqualified or the title will be taken away from you, all contestants will receive a face-book friend
request from Xantha Ward.
16. The Princess of Chocolate Girls Ball will be requested to make at least one appearance at a
Xantha Designs event or show in 2011
17. Good moral character is expected at all times by the contestants. If poor moral character is
displayed by a contestant then the director has the right to disqualify the contestant prior to the
pageant. In addition, the director has the discretion to remove title of the princess if integrity is not
upheld. Also all fees and payments are forfeited.
18. All fees are non-refundable, contestants must pay a $25.00 deposit in order to be accepted
to the competition, balance is due by July 16th, 2011 for a total of $ 100.00. Checks need to be
made to Xantha Ward or fees can be paid by credit card.
19. While competing at Chocolate Girls Ball all contestants shall refrain from texting or talking on the
cell phone unless excused by the director. It looks very rude.
20. Xantha Ward must approve all outfits for each section and part of the competition, this can be
done in person or by emailing photographs to Xantha@xanthadesigns.com (contestants name and
scene must be with each photo) photos will be kept confidential exclusively by Xantha Ward.
21. Girls are allowed to wear make-up and eyelashes but make-up must be a natural look and
age appropriate.
will allow young ladies to display their talents before an audience of their
peers. This platform will be used to empower young women of color to
build self-esteem and self worth of young women and girls by changing
their outlook on life. This also will have a positive influence on their peers
that watch them from the audience. This is a competitive event; there will
be a grand prize to the queen of the ball of $500.00. In addition, other
prises will be awarded by category. There will be a classes for contestants
of the Chocolate Girls Ball taught by professional models, designers, and
community leaders to help them prepare. This is provided by the "The
M.O.D.E.L. Project" The M.O.D.E.L. project is an instructional modeling
series for men and women of any age, type, size, & level of esteem. To
provide well founded support to the turbines of the fashion industry, the
Designer. To equip every model with the tools needed to get the call back.
The young ladies would be judged by well-respected women of the
community in the following areas:
1. Creativity
2. Poise (how they carry themselves on stage)
3. Speech (how well they speak in front of others)
4. Talent
5. Fashion

participated and attended, this was a wonderful
event and look forward to seeing the 2nd annual
Chocolate Girls Ball bigger and better next year,
